YORKTOWN, N.Y.—The White Hill Road bridge between William Court and Hunterbrook Road has been reopened after it was closed early on Wednesday, Sept. 24 after a tractor-trailer struck part of a bridge.

According to a Facebook post from the Yorktown Highway Department on Wednesday, the accident left the area "unsafe" and "absolutely no traffic" can go through.

Town Supervisor Ed Lachterman said in a statement late Wednesday afternoon that the highway department "assessed the damage and has determined that the bridge can be quickly reopened."

"Many thanks to our highway Superintendent Dave Paganelli and his team for their rapid response to this incident," Lachterman wrote. "Their efforts to minimize disruptions to residents in that area are greatly appreciated."
