YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A stolen goods investigation at the Yorktown Heights CVS led to the arrest of two New York City residents, including one wanted on an out-of-state warrant, Yorktown Police said.

On March 20, officers responded to the CVS at 2000 Commerce St. for a report of a past larceny. Following an investigation, Yorktown Police allege that Brandon Andress Montes Riano, a 23-year-old man from Brooklyn, and Yaneth Marcela Ortiz Trujillo, a 35-year-old woman from Queens, acted in concert to steal multiple items valued at $1,425.36. With assistance from the Westchester Real Time Crime Center, detectives identified the suspects, and the vehicle used in the crime.

On March 29, police in Bedford stopped the suspect vehicle and identified the occupants as Riano and Trujillo. YPD said its officers responded to the scene and took the two into custody. According to police, further investigation found that Trujillo had an active arrest warrant out of New Jersey. The Franklin Township Police Department confirmed the warrant and requested extradition back to the state, according to YPD.

Both suspects are charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E felony. Trujillo also faces an additional charge of being a fugitive from justice, also a Class E felony.

After processing, Riano was released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket for Yorktown Justice Court on April 15 at 6 p.m. Trujillo was arraigned by Judge Cohen-Pierson and remanded to the Westchester County Jail. She was scheduled to appear in Westchester County Court on Monday (March 31) and in Yorktown Justice Court on May 1 at 6 p.m.

Teens charged with juvenile delinquency

Yorktown Police arrested a 13-year-old from Yorktown and a 14-year-old from Cortlandt Manor on charges of juvenile delinquency, with the underlying offense being third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor.

The YPD said it launched an investigation on Feb. 1 after receiving a report of a fight that took place the previous day. Officers allege the juveniles pulled the victim to the ground and repeatedly punched them, causing injuries.

On March 28, both juveniles, accompanied by their guardians, responded to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. They were issued appearance tickets and released to their guardians.

The 13-year-old is scheduled to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation on April 15 at 10 a.m., while the 14-year-old is set to appear on April 14 at 9 a.m. Names were withheld by police due to juvenile status.

Yorktown man charged with disorderly conduct at fire scene

A 60-year-old Yorktown man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, after police said he continuously attempted to push past officers during a fire on March 28, ignoring verbal commands to stop. According to YPD, the man allegedly “intended to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm by engaging in violent, tumultuous and threatening behavior.”

The address of the fire and that of the man charged shown in the police report seemed to be the same. His name and address have been withheld by Halston Media.

He’s due in Yorktown Justice Court on April 15 at 6 p.m.
