NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - This year, as we have done in the past, the North Salem Republican Town Committee partnered with United for the Troops to collect Christmas presents for our servicemen and women serving overseas.
Large decorated boxes were placed at Kinglelsy Deli, the Blazer, and Sals Pizza shop to serve as collection points. Town residents filled these boxes at record levels, allowing us to make two deliveries to the United for the Troops office in Carmel. These gifts included such items as toothpaste, beef jerky, wet wipes, and other items to make their lives a bit easier while they are protecting freedom around the world. Also included were little plastic bags of soil so while overseas our men and women have a little piece of home with them. We noticed at the United for the Troops office two ladies were putting red lipstick kisses on each box that was ready to ship, and writing “sealed with a kiss.” The NSRTC is proud to be a part of this program showing our appreciation to those who sacrifice for us.
