NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The North Salem Republican Town Committee is proud to introduce their newest intern, Anna (“Anya”) Ionis, a high school senior with an impressive record of academic achievement, leadership, and civic engagement.

Anya is a top student and recipient of the Rudenstine Scholarship at Wooster School and brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role. Her passion for public service is evident through her involvement in organizations such as the Civil Air Patrol, the Girl Scouts, where she is pursuing her Gold Award, and the Lions Club, where she has contributed her time to community service initiatives.

Beyond her academic achievements and high GPA at Wooster, Anya has demonstrated strong leadership skills on Wooster’s Student Advisory Council, as captain of the varsity tennis team, and as a senior member of both the varsity soccer and basketball teams. Outside of school, Anya has served as a mentor in multiple educational and public health programs. Her ability to communicate across cultures, with fluency in Russian, Spanish, and proficiency in French, further enhances her ability to connect with a diverse community.

Anya’s commitment to conservative principles and civic responsibility was exemplified by her outstanding performance in the North Salem Republican Town Committee’s Constitution Quiz last year, where she earned second place across advanced college level questions. Her dedication to history, governance, and the Constitution aligns perfectly with the NSRTC’s mission to promote civic awareness and responsible leadership.

As the organization’s intern, Anya will assist with voter outreach, event planning, and policy research, contributing her analytical skills, marketing experience, and enthusiasm for community engagement. The North Salem Republican Town Committee is confident that her work ethic and drive will make a meaningful impact on our committee’s efforts.
