North Salem GOP supports Blakeman on affordability, safety

Posted

Dear Editor,

The North Salem Republican Town Committee proudly supports Bruce Blakeman, currently serving as Nassau County Executive, and his candidacy for Governor of New York.

At a time when communities across our state, including here in Westchester, are facing serious concerns about public safety, rising costs and the direction of state leadership, voters are looking for proven results and a clear path forward.

As County Executive, Bruce Blakeman has demonstrated that results-driven leadership is not only possible, but effective. His approach, prioritizing public safety, supporting law enforcement and exercising fiscal discipline, has delivered measurable outcomes while restoring confidence in government.

During his recent press conference this month in Somers, Bruce Blakeman spoke directly to one of the most urgent issues facing residents: affordability. He highlighted the crushing burden of high property taxes and the overall cost of living that continues to drive families and seniors out of New York. He made clear that New Yorkers are being taxed beyond what is sustainable, and that relief must come through disciplined spending, lower taxes and a renewed focus on making our state affordable again.

Also in attendance was North Salem Town Supervisor Warren Lucas, who, as always, remains closely engaged with the issues affecting our region. His presence underscored the importance of this discussion not only for Somers, but for neighboring communities like North Salem, that face many of the same challenges.

The principles guiding Bruce Blakeman’s leadership are not unique to one county. They reflect the concerns we hear every day in Westchester: the need for affordability, safer communities, and leadership focused on results, not rhetoric.

Westchester residents, like so many across New York, want to remain in the communities they love without being priced out. Bruce Blakeman understands that urgency and has put forward a clear path to address it.

We are proud to support his candidacy and encourage others across Westchester and New York to do the same.
