NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Several dozen children happily headed back to school this year with a bag full of supplies such as notebooks, pencils, and glue.
The giveaway event was hosted on Sunday, Aug. 30, at Bridleside Apartments by the North Salem Democratic Club and Committee.
Kiddos from kindergarten through 12th grade also got binders, folders, dividers, printer and construction paper, pens, erasers, crayons, markers, sticky notes, scissors, paints, and wipes.
Middle and High Schoolers were given calculators with cases and students of all ages received headphones.
Pizza, cookies, and soft drinks were also on offer.
According to committee folks, it was a “sunny day filled with smiles and gratitude.”
