NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - A multi-car accident on I-684 had local first responders racing to make the save on Sunday night.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on May 11, members of the Croton Falls Fire Department, North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Westchester EMS were called to the scene of a pileup on the highway that involved several cars and multiple injuries, including one person trapped in a vehicle.

After arriving at the site of the crash, members of the CFFD requested additional units from both Somers and Brewster EMS.

First responders were able to safely remove one subject, secure the vehicles, and provide care before the patients were taken to Westchester Medical Center.
