New American Citizens Take the Oath in Putnam County

CARMEL, N.Y.—Putnam County Clerk Michael C. Bartolotti hosted a Naturalization Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Putnam County Historic Courthouse. Bartolotti administered the Oath of Allegiance to 31 new citizens from 18 countries.

Supreme Court Judge Gina C. Capone, served as the officiating judge and offered court remarks. Pastor Andrew Columbia led the prayer and Columbia County Clerk Holly Tanner made the welcoming remarks. The director of the Putnam County Veterans Service Agency, Karl Rohde, led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Arianna Arocho, a Brewster High School student, sang renditions of the Star-Spangled Banner and God Bless America. The guest speaker was Lauren Shields, community & government affairs liaison for LiveOnNY. The new American citizens came from the following countries:                                                                     

Argentina, Columbia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Georgia, Germany, Guatemala, Ireland, Jordan, Kosovo, Mexico, Montenegro, Philippines, South Africa, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
