Mt. Kisco man alleges drink was drugged

Westchester County police report incidents in Mount Kisco ranging from unwanted advances and a DWI arrest to an allegation that a man was surreptitiously drugged after accepting a beverage from another person.

June 7

Officers responded to Carpenter Avenue at 4:37 a.m. after a California woman called 911 to report that she did not feel safe. The woman told responding officers that she had rebuffed a man’s advances earlier at a bar in the village and told a friend she wanted to leave. When she arrived at the friend’s Carpenter Avenue apartment, the man from the bar was already there. Officers investigated to ensure that no crime had been committed. The woman was then provided a courtesy transport to a hotel outside of the village because she did not feel safe staying at her friend’s apartment.

Officers responded to Target at 1:04 p.m. on a report of a possible domestic dispute or altercation in a fitting room. The guardians of an autistic youth reported that he had become upset and they were trying to control him to keep him from hurting himself. Mount Kisco VAC was requested to respond and it determined the youth had no injuries. The guardians declined any additional medical attention. A report was prepared to document the incident.

June 8

Welfare check requested on Lundy Lane at 12:41 a.m. A resident expressed concern for his roommate because he said the man was not fully coherent and possibly under the influence of an illegal narcotic. An officer responded, as did Mount Kisco VAC, which provided care at the scene and transported the man to the hospital.

An officer was dispatched to the Green Street precinct at 7:45 p.m. to meet a woman at the callbox who wanted to report a dog bite that had occurred days earlier. The Willets Road resident said a neighbor’s dog came into her yard on June 4 and attacked her, ripping her pants and biting and scratching her lower leg. The officer then went to the neighboring Willets Road residence and obtained the dog’s vaccination and rabies records. An Animal Bite Form was prepared and all documents were sent to the Westchester County Department of Health for follow-up.

June 9

A 34-year-old man was arrested on DWI and other charges following a traffic stop at 12:31 a.m. at Main Street and North Bedford Road. An officer on patrol made the traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling eastbound on Main Street with a loud muffler and heavily tinted windows. The officer detected an odor of alcohol when speaking with the motorist and observed an open container of alcohol in the center console. The man failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. It was determined during booking that he had a suspended license and was required to operate a vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device. The man was charged with driving while intoxicated, second- and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, misdemeanors.

Officers responded to Hotel MTK on Pat Reilly Way at 9:49 a.m. on a report of a guest who was found unresponsive and not breathing in his room. Officers and personnel from Westchester EMS and Mount Kisco VAC performed CPR but could not revive the 60-year-old man. He was pronounced dead by a Westchester EMS paramedic. The circumstances are not considered suspicious.

June 10

Report received at 4:57 a.m. of a man, possibly intoxicated, on the ground on South Moger Avenue near Main Street. An officer located the man and requested EMS respond to evaluate him. The man declined any medical attention and said he wanted to walk to his house on North Moger Avenue. It was determined it was safe for him to do and he proceeded to his home.

Patrol and Emergency Service Unit officers conducted a search of a vacant home on Woodland Street beginning at 8:16 a.m. due to reports of squatters entering it at various times. No one was present. The property was turned over to DPW personnel.

An officer was dispatched back to the Green Street precinct at 5 p.m. to meet a man who wanted to report a crime that occurred in the past. The man told the officer that he believes another person drugged him when he was given a beverage to drink while they sat in a parked car on East Main Street. The officer prepared a report and the matter was turned over to a detective for continued investigation.

June 11

Report received at 10:37 a.m. of a man passed out in a driveway in the 300 block of Lexington Avenue. The man was conscious and alert upon an officer’s arrival. EMS was requested.

Officers responded to Target on North Bedford Road at 5:16 p.m. to issue a trespass warning to a customer at management’s request. Staff reported that a woman had complained that the man was following her around the store and making her uncomfortable. After reviewing security video, staff requested police respond and issue a formal trespass notice barring the man from returning to the store.
