MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Westchester County Police responded to a number of calls, including instances of trespassing, rock throwing, and damage to a pump at a local gas station.
April 7
An officer responded to a building on Barker Street at 9:13 p.m. after a tenant reported that a person was trespassing and possibly intending to sleep in the basement. The officer located a man who was known to the department and who claimed he was there to visit a friend. Due to the man’s disheveled condition, the officer offered to help him find shelter for the night but he declined any assistance and denied he was intending to sleep there. The man left the building after being advised that management does not want him on the premises.
April 9
Report received at 12:09 a.m. that someone had thrown a rock at another man as he walked in the 400 block of Main Street. The person who called to report the incident advised that he was driving the intended target to catch a train at the Mount Kisco railroad station. Once there, the intended victim declined to speak with officers or pursue the matter further.
Officers responded to Barker Street at 10:04 a.m. to assist a woman who was experiencing chest pains. Westchester EMS also responded and transported her to Northern Westchester Hospital.
An employee of a gas station on East Main Street reported at 8:41 p.m. that a patron had driven off while a gas pump nozzle was still attached to his car. The incident caused several hundred dollars of damage to the gas pump. The employee said the station owner had contacted the driver, who is a regular customer, to discuss being reimbursed for the damage. The employee asked for a report to be prepared to document the damage to the gas pump.
April 10
Officers were dispatched at 8:14 a.m. to a smoke condition and a possible manhole fire in front of 76 Kisco Avenue. Power was shut down in the area due to the condition. Mount Kisco DPW and Mount Kisco FD also responded. Con Ed was notified to respond. Officers remained on scene to conduct traffic control in that area.
WCPD officers and the Mount Kisco Fire Department responded to an activated fire alarm at 2:59 p.m. at a business on Main Street. It was determined that dust had triggered the alarm and there was no fire.
Officers responded to a deli on Main Street at 4:41 p.m. on a report of an activated carbon monoxide alarm. The Mount Kisco Fire Department also responded and ventilated the premises to make it safe. The source of the problem was identified as a faulty ventilation fan in the kitchen area. The business was ordered to close until a repair was completed.
April 11
An officer from the Surface Transportation Unit, which monitors Bee-Line bus conditions around the county, conducted multiple inspections of Bee-Line bus stops and routes in the village beginning at 10:25 a.m. No issues were reported.
