Mount Kisco Police Blotter: Fight outside precinct, public lewdness

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - County Police had a busy start to the month, with officers responding to a number of incidents including a physical altercation outside the police station and reports of public lewdness. 

March 30

Report received at 5:17 p.m. of two men fighting outside the Green Street precinct. Officers on patrol returned to the precinct and detained two men they observed walking away from the area. One of the men said the other had challenged him to a fight on South Moger Avenue and then followed him to Green Street, where a fight occurred. The man who was followed to Green Street said he did not want to press charges.  

A 54-year-old man was arrested at 4:30 p.m. on a bench warrant charging him with failing to appear in Mount Kisco Justice Court to answer summonses issued to him last summer. The man was arrested when an officer conducting an inspection at a laundromat on Main Street recognized him. He was arraigned and released pending an April 10 appearance in village court.   

March 31

Officers were requested at 11:25 p.m. to conduct a welfare check on a Lexington Avenue resident who went to the emergency room but left before receiving treatment for a laceration. When officers located the man, he said he had just called a friend for a ride back to Northern Westchester Hospital. The friend arrived and took the man back to the ER.

Complaint received at 7:25 p.m. of public lewdness occurring in the area of Dunkin Donuts on East Main Street. Officers located a man behind the building who was exposing himself and took him into custody. He also had an open can of beer in his possession. The 43-year-old man was booked at the Green Street Precinct on a charge of Public Lewdness, a misdemeanor. He was also issued a summons for Public Consumption of Alcohol. He is due to answer the charges in Mount Kisco Justice Court on April 24.

A Lexington Avenue resident was arrested at 6:30 p.m. after an officer observed him with an open can of beer on Dakin Avenue. While issuing a summons, the officer determined there was an outstanding warrant for the man’s arrest issued by Westchester County Family Court. The 21-year-old was transported to the Westchester County Jail and held pending an appearance in Family Court the next day.

Multiple summonses for village code violations were issued after officers conducted an inspection at 4:57 p.m. of a wooded area/trail way off Lieto Drive. Six men received summonses for Public Consumption of Alcohol and three others received summonses for Public Consumption and Littering.

April 1

Noise complaint received at 1:15 p.m. regarding a loud argument outside a building on Carpenter Avenue. The parties were gone upon the officer’s arrival.

The Surface Transportation Unit, which monitors Bee-Line bus conditions around the county, conducted multiple inspections of Bee-Line bus stops and routes in the village beginning at 9:50 a.m. No issues were reported.

April 3

Officers responded to an activated burglar alarm at 3:49 a.m. at a business on Radio Circle. Upon arrival, officers were advised that an employee who entered the business had provided the proper passcode to the alarm company.

April 4

Report received at 1:04 a.m. of two youths yelling and possibly fighting outside a building on Barker Street. Officers located two teen-agers below the age of 18, one of whom was crying. It was determined that their dispute was verbal in nature only. Due to the hour and age of the youths, their parents were notified. An officer drove a boy home to Bedford Hills and escorted the other teen back to her family’s apartment. 

Report received at 7:14 p.m. of a person who left her West Street residence in an emotional state and was threatening to harm herself. Officers obtained a description of her car and canvassed the area, but were unable to locate it. After learning that the woman had relatives in Mohegan Lake, an officer from the Cortlandt precinct was requested to check for her there. She was located with relatives and agreed to go to Westchester Medical Center for mental health services. She was transported by American Medical Response ambulance.
