Motorcyclist arrested after fleeing traffic stop

Posted

A traffic stop on Crompond Road led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Elmsford man on charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

The Yorktown Police Department said that on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 10, an officer observed a motorcycle drifting from its lane and making an unsafe lane change on Crompond Road. When the officer attempted to stop the motorcycle, the rider allegedly refused to pull over, continued onto Underhill Avenue and accelerated away.

Police did not immediately apprehend the driver but identified him during their investigation. On Sunday, March 15, Brandon Gordon surrendered at Yorktown Police Headquarters and was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor, along with multiple traffic tickets. Gordon was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.

Gordon is due in Yorktown Justice Court March 31 at 6 p.m.
