A 92-year-old New Rochelle woman, who had been reported as missing, was found dead in her car after an apparent car accident on Tuesday, June 30, state police said.

Joan A. Mosca was last seen at about 4 p.m. leaving the park-and-ride lot near Exit 4 of I-684 in Mount Kisco and then driving south.

At about 7:30 p.m., police received a report that she had gone missing. At about 10:30 p.m. they located her gray Toyota Camry, which had overturned about 30 feet off the shoulder of the highway, near mile post marker 0.9 in Harrison.

Mosca’s body was found inside the vehicle.

An investigation determined that she had been going south on I-684 when her vehicle exited the right shoulder, struck a tree, and overturned.

Police were assisted at the scene by Harrison Ems and the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
