Man killed during tree trimming accident in Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. - A man lost his life after being struck by a falling tree limb in Somers on Monday, June 23. 

According to preliminary reports, the incident took place just after 4 p.m. at a private residence. 

Members of the New York State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Somers Volunteer Fire Department rushed to the scene after receiving reports of an unresponsive male who had been injured while removing trees from the property. 

First responders initiated life-saving procedures before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
