MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Police and medical responders raced to a business in Mount Kisco late Tuesday, Jan. 27, after someone there reported finding a man lying unconscious in a back room.
According to County Police spokesman Kieran O’Leary, the call for help came in around 9:26 p.m. from a laundromat on East Main Street.
Officers performed CPR until ambulance crews arrived to take over lifesaving efforts.
The man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:23 p.m.
The Westchester Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause of death. At this time, there is "no physical or video evidence to indicate foul play," police said.
The man may have been part of a group of homeless individuals who are known to police and reportedly gather at laundromats at night to stay warm.
Medical personnel reported that there were no signs of trauma to the man’s body. A review of several hours of video from the laundromat shows no evidence of an assault or altercation among the parties present at that time, police said.
His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
