Mahopac Fire Dept. parade and carnival return this weekend

Parade to take a new route this year

Posted

The Mahopac Fire Department parade and carnival is back. The annual local tradition kicks off on Thursday, July 24, with the department’s dress parade at 7 p.m. Note: This year’s parade will follow a new route, beginning on Route 6 just north of the firehouse near Our Town Bagels and Bakery and ending at the firehouse.

The 2025 carnival runs Thursday through Sunday, July 24–27, and Thursday through Saturday, July 31–Aug. 2, offering seven days of fun, excitement and family-friendly entertainment. As always, visitors can enjoy rides, games, prizes, and the department’s famous sausage and peppers. A raffle will be held again this year, with the grand prize—a choice between a UTV with a plow or a personal watercraft with trailer—to be awarded on the final night of the carnival. Tickets are $10 and available now through Aug. 2.

Dates and times:

  • Thursday, July 24: End of parade to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, July 25: 7 to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 26: 6 to 11 p.m.
