There may still be snow on the ground (at least as we write this) but for fans of diamond sports the new year means spring training is approaching. While MLB pitchers and catchers report in about a month, local softball players will also be getting their gear out of winter storage not long after.
With the 2026 season just around the corner, here are some standout teams from the 2025 campaign in the Yorktown adult softball weeknight leagues. The program is run by the Yorktown Sports Association (YSA Leagues), which oversees scheduling, registration and league operations across its adult softball offerings, including men’s and coed divisions. The organization also runs a Westchester Sunday League.
As for Yorktown in 2025:
The Northern Goats took the men’s Taconic title, with Bob B Q’s winning the men’s Mohansic B crown and the Gameday Bombers claiming the championship in the coed division.
In addition to the traditional competition, the league organized its first annual coed all-star game, with Yorktown’s top talent defeating the Westchester all-stars at Shrub Oak Memorial Park in September.
Registration is open for both leagues and closes on March 27. The season starts April 13.
