ELECTIONS

Town of Carmel and Putnam County elections get underway

Early voting has begun

Posted

With three candidates — Mike Lugo, Robert Schanil Jr. and Brett Wieland — running for two Town Board seats, and contested elections for supervisor (Mike Cazzari vs. Jean Hopper), county legislature (Erin Crowley vs. Lenny Harrington) and county sheriff (Brian Hess vs. Larry Burke), Mahopac voters have a lot to consider this fall. See page 3 in the Oct. 23 edition of Mahopac News.

2025 early voting

Putnam County will participate in early voting for the 2025 primary and general elections. Registered voters will have nine days to cast their ballots before each election.

The early voting process is the same as on Election Day. When you arrive at the polling location, you will sign the electronic poll book, mark your ballot, and cast it on the voting machine. Sample ballots will be available for review, and election inspectors can provide assistance if needed.

All early voting sites are accessible to voters with physical disabilities.

Voters who are unable to appear at the polls during the early voting period or on Election Day may still vote by mail.

For more information, contact the Putnam County Board of Elections at 845-808-1300 or boe@putnamcountyny.gov, or visit the New York State Board of Elections at elections.ny.gov or call 518-474-1953.
