Linda Ann Brodie, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at her home in Mohegan Lake, New York, on August 11, 2026, after a long battle with Vascular Dementia.
Linda was born in 1952, at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, while her father served in the United States Army. She was the daughter of Joan Brodie (Fraccio) and Theodore Brodie. She spent her early years in Mount Vernon and White Plains before moving to Yorktown Heights in her twenties to raise her family. Linda was the devoted mother of David Brodie Fichter and Elena Lyn DeCarlo, and the loving mother-in-law of Jerry DeCarlo. Her family was at the center of her life.
Linda earned her bachelor’s degree from Pace University while working for AT&T. She later spent 25 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield before becoming an elementary school teacher at Our Lady of Refuge in the Bronx.
Linda is survived by four sisters, including Lorraine Gates, Barbara Brodie, Carolyn Oronzio, and Elaine Brodie. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Linda treasured life’s simple joys: the beach, gardening, walks, music, laughter, dancing, and time with friends and family. She found happiness in the simplest moments and shared that joy with those around her. Linda will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and will be eternally loved and deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Linda’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association
