Lewisboro needs new leadership

Posted

Dear Editor,

Supervisor Tony Gonçalves and Deputy Supervisor Mary Shah vote as a block every time, whether it is over-spending, giving money to special interest groups, promising clean water at one price and failing to deliver, and the list goes on. Adding former Board of Education President and progressive Julia Hadlock, and allowing our school-owned properties to run down, was part of an attack on our town. It threw our town employees out of their offices and forced a last-minute, overpriced purchase of a new building that now has to be remodeled — asking for trouble.

We need the A-Team. Andrea Rendo is an attorney with years of experience and Adam Giardina is a builder and contractor. They are forward-thinking leaders. They will not only provide vision, but will get it done, while watching over our finances, as opposed to wildly overspending, mismanagement and reactionary politics. Vote the A-Team and do it for Lewisboro. Unity and vision!!

The "special interest" group this writer speaks of is Lewisboro Pride Events and Juneteenth. This writer likes to compare the Garibaldi Society (Italian Heritage) to LGBTQ+ Pride Month. The truth is, I've had more rights as an Italian American in the U.S. then I have as a ***** person. Italians have been able to marry other Italians since the dawn of time. Gay people? Not since 2015. We're not a special interest group. We represent underserved minority groups in this town who have for generations not been afforded the same rights as our fellow neighbors. Don't let the right-wing fears of others slip into our town politics. Not now. Not ever. - Jason Pignatiello, Waccabuc

... and apparently the word Q U E E R is not allowed on this site. Another great example why Pride is needed in this town and every town in America these days.
