Recent Mahopac High School graduate Lola Lauro has earned a major honor from the New York State Attorney General’s Office, which recently presented her with its Civic Ambassador Award.
According to the Attorney General’s Office website, students eligible for the award must be nominated by a teacher or administrator and show “a passion for civics and government.”
District officials said Lauro was recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership, civic engagement, academic responsibility and a commitment to serving her community.
“Lola’s dedication to making a positive impact both in and beyond the classroom makes her a deserving recipient of this prestigious honor,” the website post said. “Congratulations, Lola, on this outstanding achievement!”
