LEWISBORO, N.Y. - A four-legged officer earned a few extra biscuits this week when he helped the Lewisboro Police Department uncover a drug stash during a traffic stop.
Just before 8 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, Jan. 9, Officer Mulé was conducting a traffic stop which led to a pair of arrests for the possession of felony-weight narcotics.
Mulé initially discovered the driver had a suspended license, and further investigation of the vehicle led to the suspicion that it contained illegal drugs.
The officer requested assistance from the department’s K9 unit, and Zane was on the case.
The canine was able to sniff out several areas in the vehicle where narcotics had been stashed, and the two suspects now face a litany of charges.
