Joseph M. Yatsko, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Joseph was 93 years old. He lived into his nineties, witnessing tremendous change in the world, while holding tightly to the values that defined him: loyalty, family, hard work, and faith. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and pride that will continue to guide those who knew and loved him. Born on September 28, 1932, in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Manfredi) Yatsko. In 1951, Joseph answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Seabees Construction Electrician. He served honorably and was discharged in 1955. Joseph worked for many years as a lifelong electrician and was a proud member of Local 501 IBEW. Those who knew him knew he was never afraid of hard work. Joseph loved watching and playing golf, especially with his sons, grandsons, and friends. He loved crabbing, dancing, painting, and spending time with family and friends. More often than not, you could find him in the kitchen, quietly sneaking a sweet treat and sharing a smile with anyone who caught him. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Oleksowicz) Yatsko, of 67 years married on May 10, 1959 at St. Casimir’s Church; his sons, Joseph (Theresa), Robert (Veronica), Scott (Laura), and Jeffrey; and his grandchildren, Terry, Christina (Jason), Robert Jr., Christopher (Meagan), Stephen, Kayla (Michael), Scott (Jackie), Bryan, Lucia, and Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Brooke, Riley, Rocco, Danny, Tyler, Nicholas, Ariel, Jeno, Andrew and Nathaniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his parents; his brother, John; and his sisters, Theresa, Margaret, and Rose. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and watching over us always. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
