Joseph D. Cipriani of Brewster, New York passed away at home on February 15, 2026.

He was born on October 5, 1982, in Carmel, New York to Holly (Myslim) Cipriani and the late Vincent C. Cipriani.

He attended Brewster schools and graduated in 2002. After high school, he worked a variety of jobs including Chappaqua Transportation. He had a great love of animals and would always surprise us by bringing home a variety of pets. He started training as a dog groomer and worked at Happy Tails in Brewster. He was a single dad and raised his daughter Carolyn, from 4 months old until he became very ill when she was 3.5 years old. He suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a stroke and was disabled at the age of 34. He improved enough to come home and live with his family in Brewster. Before Joey became ill, he enjoyed going on hikes, adventures, and swimming with his daughter. He loved music and was a great dancer and passed those passions to Carolyn. He loved wrestling and boxing and got to meet Hulk Hogan in March of 2025. He was so happy and excited.

Joey is survived by his beloved daughter Carolyn, his mother Holly and stepdad Joe Schaniel. He also leaves behind two brothers, Matt and Chris Soderstrom, four sisters, Brittany Schaniel, Lindsey, Nicole and Olivia Cipriani, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and grandparents Dominick and Joanne Cipriani.

He is predeceased by his father, Vincent Cipriani.

A special thank you to his aunt Mary Teze for all her visits while he was in the hospital, rehab and nursing center and when he came home. She made him laugh a whole lot and we will be forever grateful.

Joey, you are going to be so missed and the love we all had for you will be there forever. None of our lives will be the same. Fly high, our free bird, until we are together again.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, New York 10512. Funeral Services will take place at 6 p.m. during calling hours.
