John S. Swetz of Carmel, NY, passed away at home on Sunday April 19, 2026, at the age of 57.
John was born on December 9, 1968, in Mt. Kisco, NY, son of Peter Swetz and the late Carmela (D’Amore) Swetz. He graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White plains, NY then shortly after that he started his career as a Furniture Refinisher.
John has spent the last few years helping take care of his father, he loved building model cars and listening to music, he looked forward to going to lake Sycamore in Carmel and he loved his great nieces and nephews, he always brought them thoughtful gifts.
Besides his father Peter, John is survived by his brothers Peter Swetz Jr. and his wife Betty of North Salem, NY, his brother Richard Swetz of Durham, CT and several nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday April 23, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Church in Somers, NY followed by the interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday April 22, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
