Michael Hickins seems to want to shift blame away from aliens ("Stop scapegoating immigrants after tragedy," May 7, Page 29). Let’s be clear that Sheridan Gorman was murdered by an illegal alien. And to say non-aliens commit more crimes, maybe he should study statistics.
In his second rant, Hickins attacks police and says Yorktown police salaries and equipment are the biggest line item in the town budget. Maybe he should see our ranking as one of the safest places to live? Money well spent. In his third rant, he attacks Duputy Supervisor Sergio Esposito, who owns a business that sells guns and provides firearm safety instruction. Guns don’t kill; people kill. The predominant guns used in crimes are not legal guns.
