Ilse Paula Marie Oswald, 89, a long-time resident of Pawling, NY, formerly a long-time resident of Brooklyn and Mohegan Lake, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Born in Luebeck-Schlutup, Germany on June 14, 1935, she was the daughter of Walter and Alma W. (Busch) Loth and wife of the late Johann Oswald who passed away on August 12, 2003.
Ilse worked at Guerlain, Inc, a cosmetics company in Somers, NY.
Ilse was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Christ the King in Pawling for many years, baking and donating handmade crafts for their craft sales. She loved knitting, crocheting, embroidery, baking, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed going on Senior trips to watch musicals and going out to lunch with her friends. She was an avid card player and enjoyed many activities at the senior center in PaSaturdaymwling.
She is survived by her two daughters, Monica R. Oswald of New Fairfield, CT and Gloria M. Oswald of Everett, MA; five grandchildren, Erik Oswald of Largo, FL, Jonathan Oswald of Arlington, MA, Elizabeth Oswald of Dallas, TX, Derek Summers of New Fairfield, CT, and Brian Summers of Loveland, OH: and nieces and nephews, Andrea, Roswitha, Ruediger, Joerg, Birgit, and Petra in Germany.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Route 22, Pawling, NY from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will be conducted at the church at 1 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
