Monday, Sept. 28, Yorktown High School 

Yorktown overcame a tough Ardsley squad 3-1 (25-15, 25-22, 15-25, 25-23), ignited by Sophia Delgado (8 digs, 2 aces, 21 assists), Mia Horn (15 digs, 11 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace), Nina Fasce (18 digs, 1 ace, 22 assists), Haley Allen (13 digs, 1 kill, 2 aces, 8 assists), Emma McCoy (15 digs, 17 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace, 1 assist), and Kailey Alexander (2 digs, 13 kills, 6 blocks).

Wednesday, Sept. 30, Yorktown High School  

Yorktown beat Carmel 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-9), led by Delgado (3 digs, 11 assists), Fasce (16 digs, 14 assists), Allen (11 digs, 6 aces, 4 assists), and McCoy (8 digs, 8 kills, 2 blocks).  

Yorktown 3, Mahopac 0 

Friday, Oct. 2, Yorktown High School 

Fasce (8 digs, 1 ace, 13 assists), Allen (12 digs, 4 aces, 2 assists), McCoy (2 digs, 12 kills, 2 aces, 1 assist), and Alexander (1 dig, 5 kills, 3 blocks, 1 assist) propelled Yorktown to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-9) win against Mahopac in a rematch of last year’s Section 1 Class AA championship match at the Westchester County Center, which also was won by the Huskers.  

“It felt great to have a rematch of last year’s sectional title game, especially since we won, which to me proves that we continue to have great skill among the Yorktown volleyball team and shows all of our hard work and determination,” Alexander said.

Lakeland 3, Putnam Valley 0 

Monday, Sept. 28, Putnam Valley High School  

Lakeland defeated Putnam Valley 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-20), paced by Kelly Mallon with 11 digs, 12 kills; Caelyn Faison with 10 kills, 2 blocks; Sofia Cruz with 21 assists; Mia Aquart with 13 kills; Amelia Mallon with 12 assists; Maebh Rooney with 3 blocks; Ava Stabile with 12 digs; and Vera Ibrahimi with 11 digs.  

Lakeland 3, Fox Lane 0 

Wednesday, Sept. 30, Fox Lane Middle School 

Lakeland defeated Fox Lane 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 26-24), led by Faison with 10 kills, 2 digs; Aquart with 10 digs, 9 kills; Amelia Mallon with 14 assists; Cruz with 9 assists, 7 kills; Stabile with 12 digs; Olivia Doherty with 4 kills; and Mickaela Zuniga with 4 digs.

Thursday, Oct. 1, Lakeland High School  

The Hornets won their ninth game in a row with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-12) triumph against Ossining, paced by Kelly Mallon with 12 kills, 13 digs, 5 aces; Cruz with 27 assists, 7 digs; Faison with 8 kills, 3 blocks; and Maebh Rooney with 2 kills.  

“Our team has been able to win nine games in a row by working extra hard at practice every day,” Kelly Mallon said. “All the girls show up to practice ready to grow and get better and that has definitely helped our winning streak.”

Arlington 3, Lakeland 2 

Thursday, Oct. 1, Arlington High School 

Lakeland suffered its first loss of the season with a 3-2 (23-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-15, 14-16) setback against Arlington, led by Isaac Arias (17 kills, 5 blocks).  

Lakeland 3, Somers 0 

Friday, Oct. 2, Lakeland High School  

The Hornets bounced back with 3-0 (25-5, 25-14, 26-24) sweep versus Somers, ignited by Arias (6 kills, 1 block), Van Bui (2 kills, 15 assists, 2 aces), Erdin Dedushaj (5 kills), Logan Tolve (8 kills, 2 aces), and Ben Mathew (2 aces).  

“A very critical part of that win was the fire inside of everybody,” Tolve said. “After the close loss against Arlington to break our undefeated streak, we all wanted another win and more importantly prove that a win against us will take a lot. So we all gave our best effort to send that message.” 

Yorktown Boys Volleyball (6-2)

Yorktown 3, Brewster 1 

Thursday, Oct. 1, Yorktown High School  

Xavier Guzman (14 kills, 11 digs), Sid Shenoy (20 kills), and Cooper McGowan (35 assists) led Yorktown to a 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-7, 25-22) victory against Brewster.  

“When it came down to it, I think that the key to victory was our energy and drive to win,” Shenoy said. “We made sure to fight for each point. Whenever we had momentum, we did our best to run with it and not allow them to come back. Even when they did build up any momentum, we tried to stop it every single point.” 

Yorktown 3, Fox Lane 0 

Saturday, Oct. 3, Fox Lane Middle School 

Yorktown defeated Fox Lane 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-16), paced by  Anton Ubozhenko (14 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks), Cristiano Rodriguez (11 kills, 2 blocks), and McGowan (24 assists, 4 aces).

Lakeland 9, Mahopac 0 

Thursday, Oct. 1, Lakeland High School 

Lakeland’s Aditi Parambath recorded 5 assists, tying a school record for assists in a game, in a 9-0 win against Mahopac.  

“It’s very honorable to be a part of many great players from the past who reached this record,” Parambath said.  

Gianna Santini (4G), Heyde (1G, 2A), Goldstein (2G),  Annabelle Straley  (first career goal), Riley Waters (1G), Kendal Williams (1A), and Nikki Santini (1A) produced offensively with Olivia O’Connor and Ali Castro sharing the shutout in goal.  

Lakeland 9, Panas 0 

Friday, Oct. 2, Lakeland High School 

Gianna Santini (3G, 1A), Allie Waters (2G, 1A), Riley Waters (1G, 2A),  Kendal Williams (1G, 1A), Meaghan Heyde (2A), Parambath (1G), and  Gabby Goldstein (1G), propelled Lakeland to a 9-0 victory versus sister school Walter Panas.  

O'Connor registered the shutout in goal for a Lakeland squad that has outscored the opposition 86-2 this season.  

Yorktown Field Hockey (9-1)

Yorktown 8, Clarkstown 0 

Monday, Sept. 28, Yorktown High School 

Yorktown blanked Clarkstown 8-0, led by Alana D’Andraia, who registered a career-high 4 goals.  

“I was in the right place at the right time,” D’Andraia said. “Our team plays so unselfishly and shares the ball so well.  I was just the fortunate one to finish the play. 

Ava Ryan (2G), Anna Burns (1G, 1A), Maddie Murray (1G, 1A),  Lily Diaz (2A), Emma Donnelly (1A), and Sam Conboy (2 saves) also contributed to the victory.  

“I am just so proud of our team and want us to continue winning,” D’Andraia said.  

Yorktown 5, Carmel 0 

Saturday, Oct. 3, Yorktown High School  

Burns (2G, 1A), Ryan (1G, 1A), D’Andraia (1G), Diaz (1G), and Murray (1A) propelled Yorktown to a 5-0 win against Carmel.  

Lakeland Boys Soccer (9-1-1) 

Lakeland 6, Carmel 2 

Tuesday, Sept. 29, Carmel High School  

Nick Ahmataj (3G, 1A), Ryan Harmon (1G, 1A), Matteo DiLaura  (1G, 1A), Lucas Lobo (1G), Christian Moscati (1A), Aiden Plouffe (4 saves), and Mike Ettere (5 saves) ignited Lakeland to a 6-2 triumph against Carmel.  

“We came out on top because we were ready from the start and really played for each other,” Ahmataj said. “We stayed focused, kept the intensity high, and when we got our chances, we made the most of them.” 

Lakeland 2, Brewster 2 

Wednesday, Sept. 30, Brewster High School 

Goals from DiLaura and Harmon, both assisted by Ahmataj, combined with 4 saves tallied by Plouffe, helped Lakeland tie Brewster 2-2.  

Lakeland 5, Peekskill 0 

Friday, Oct.2, Lakeland High School  

Lakeland blanked Peekskill 5-0, led by DiLaura (2G), Luke Gomes (1G, 1A), Ahmataj (1G), Q1-A, Harmon (1G), Lucas Lobo (2A), Plouffe (4 saves), and Mike Ettere (1 save).  

Yorktown Boys Soccer (0-8-2)  

Yorktown 2, Harrison 2 

Monday, Sept. 28, Harrison High School  

Yorktown recorded a 2-2 tie against Harrison, getting both its goals from Eoghan Vallely. Lucas Flores tallied an assist, with Joe Popovic making 8 saves.  

Fox Lane 2, Yorktown 1  

Wednesday, Sept. 30, Yorktown High School  

Yorktown fell to Fox Lane 2-1, with Vallely recording an unassisted goal and Popovic tallying 5 saves.
