The library has reopened as of Thursday, Oct. 1, after a temporary closure in preparation for its interior renovation. Bookshelves and service desks have been moved into the Community Room to continue serving the public while new flooring is installed. During this time, patrons will still be able to visit the library to check out books, pick up reserved materials and ask basic questions. The children’s room will also remain open and accessible for children and families. Programming will be available online via Zoom workshops, with the potential for in-person programs for children. Unfortunately, certain services, such as public computers, study cubicles and other seating areas, will be unavailable until the main floor is reopened.
Due dates for items borrowed during the renovation will be extended until Nov. 30, and fines will also be suspended during this period, excluding children’s video games, Sprout backpacks and American Girl dolls. While modernization work will continue through at least the end of 2026, the library expects to be fully operational again by the end of November, subject to construction progress.
