Five Yorktown seniors named National Merit finalists

Yorktown High School is celebrating five seniors who have earned the distinction of 2026 National Merit Scholarship Finalists. The students are Connor Ropke, Akhil Bollimpalli, Jashvi Desai, Siddharth Nair and Jack Falk.

The National Merit Scholarship Program begins with about 1.3 million juniors nationwide taking the PSAT/NMSQT. From that group, roughly 16,000 are named semifinalists and about 15,000 advance to finalist standing after meeting additional academic requirements. Scholarship winners will be chosen from the finalists later this spring.
