Eric L.B. Breuning

Eric L.B. Breuning passed away on  May 16, 2026, in Fort Myers, FL, at the age of 84. Born on December 10, 1941, Eric grew up in New York and graduated from Pleasantville School District. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965, where he also played soccer for the U.S. Navy throughout Europe.

Following his military service, Eric worked as a machinist where he helped create models and displays for prominent companies including Avon, IBM, and General Electric. He also contributed to architectural models for the Empire State Plaza buildings (The Egg) in Albany, New York, Lunar Landing Module, and created displays for the New York State Power Authority.

Eric then began a long and distinguished career as a Dockbuilder and Gang Foreman with Local 1456. Over more than two decades, he helped construct bridges, docks, fender systems, pilasters, and other vital infrastructure throughout the region such as the Tappan Zee and Newburgh Beacon Bridges. After retirement, he continued serving his community as a bus driver for the Katonah-Lewisboro School District.

Eric was deeply committed to public service and volunteered for many years with both the Mount Pleasant Police Department Auxiliary Unit and the Golden's Bridge Fire Department, dedicating countless hours to helping others as an EMT and supporting his community.

Known for his quick wit, Eric loved making people laugh with jokes and riddles. He also had a passion for cooking and enjoyed cooking meals with family, friends, and community organizations.

Eric leaves behind his loving wife; his son; his two daughters; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters. Eric's legacy of service, generosity, humor, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
