Edward "Eddie" Frattellone Jr., 83, of Poughquag, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Edward was born on September 29, 1942, in the Bronx, New York, to Rose and Edward Frattellone Sr. After proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps for three years, he met the love of his life, Barbara Lepore, at a dance club in Queens in 1966. They were married in 1968 and made their first home in Bronxville, where they welcomed their first son, Erik Todd Frattellone, in 1970. The family later moved to the community of Shrub Oak, where their second son, Brett Allan Frattellone, was born. After many years in Westchester County, Edward and Barbara settled in Poughquag in 2002.
Edward dedicated much of his life to public service. He worked for the New York City Department of Sanitation for 25 years before continuing his career with the United States Postal Service, where he served for an additional 17 years.
Eddie will be remembered for his warm, outgoing personality and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He was truly the life of the party, bringing laughter, humor, and kindness to everyone he met. His infectious smile and generous spirit made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In his free time, Edward enjoyed collecting guns and knives, traveling throughout New York to attend gun shows and collectors' conventions. He also shared a lifelong love of cars with his son Erik, and the two spent countless hours talking about automobiles. One of his greatest joys was traveling with his beloved wife, Barbara, and spending special outings with his granddaughter, Nicolette Frattellone, whom he adored.
Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Barbara Frattellone; his son, Erik Frattellone; and his cherished granddaughter, Nicolette Frattellone. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Brett Allan Frattellone.
Edward's love for his family, his gift for making people smile, and the friendships he formed throughout his life will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yorktown Funeral Home in Shrub Oak. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 20, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak.
