Dear Editor,

As dedicated community minded members, we are writing to announce our joint candidacy: Lucy Massafra, Nicole Iacono and Kyle Potter for the Mahopac School District Board of Trustees. With three positions open in this election, we believe we are ideal candidates to help move our district forward.

We need to do the following:

• Return to a high achieving Blue Ribbon Status school district.

• Get back to basics of learning; Reading, Writing, Math and History.

• Make thoughtful decisions about district finances with transparency in the budget process.

We are three community members with diverse backgrounds, shared values and a deep commitment to public education; we are running together because we believe real progress happens when leaders work as a team.

Together, we bring a range of experiences—as parents and civic-minded professionals—but what unites us is a shared commitment to putting students first, supporting our district staff, listening to community concerns and strengthening the future of our community.

Our priorities are clear:

• Academic excellence that meets the needs of all learners;

• Transparency and accountability in decision-making and budgeting;

• Community-focused leadership that values collaboration with families, educators and local partners.

We’re not running to push personal agendas—we’re running to serve. As a team, we believe in collaboration over division, facts over fear and listening over assuming. Our campaign will be grounded in community input and driven by a deep respect for the educators and families who make our schools thrive.

We respectfully ask for your support and your vote. Together, we can bring fresh energy, responsible leadership, and a united vision to the Mahopac School District Board of Trustees.

-Lucy Massafra, Nicole Iacono and Kyle Potter, candidates for Board of Education
