MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - The community is invited to join the Mount Kisco Historical Society in a celebration of Notable Women on Sunday, March 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Mount Kisco Public Library at 100 E. Main Street.
This event is part of the society’s ongoing celebration of the village’s sesquicentennial (150th) anniversary.
Enjoy presentations on women trailblazers, such as the first woman conservationist who taught how everyone could do something to help planet Earth; the first woman mayor of Mount Kisco; the first local woman to teach nursing, the local woman who changed U.S. education policy, the first woman firefighter in Mount Kisco, and many more. Learn about the challenges “change-making” women faced in the past and still grapple with today.
Also in the library from March 17 through April 7, there will be a photography exhibition about the “Notable Women of Mount Kisco.”
