The Yorktown Police Department said crews are responding to widespread reports of downed trees and wires, with several roadways blocked and impassable as utility and highway crews work to clear debris and restore safe travel conditions.

Road closures include Mohegan Avenue at 3233 Mohegan Ave., Baker Street south of Inspiration Road, Mohansic Avenue near 2275 between Edcris and Leland, Curry Street at Ravencrest Road, Deer Street at Winding Court, Mohegan Avenue at Dale Street, Foothill Street at Lockwood Road and Indian Hill Road.Motorists are being urged to avoid unnecessary travel and never drive around barricades or downed wires.

Some residents remain without power. About 13 NYSEG customers were without power as of 1:57 p.m. Monday, along with about 10 Con Edison customers.

Town highway crews and utility workers are continuing to work to clear roadways and restore service.
