The Carvel at 3643 Hill Blvd. was damaged Tuesday when a vehicle crashed into the building.

Yorktown police told Yorktown News that officers responded to the scene at about 11:55 a.m. Aug. 18.

Police said the driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to strike the building.

The driver, a woman in her 70s, was the only occupant and was not injured.

The Yorktown Building Department also responded to inspect the structure and verify its structural integrity following the crash.

No injuries were reported, and ice cream is being served.
