Dear Editor,
In an era when too many political endorsements come with hidden strings attached, the Town of Carmel Republican Committee believes in simple truth in advertising. That is why we proudly and openly endorse Jaime Dickson, Joseph Catalli and Alana Sweeney for the Mahopac Board of Education in the May 19 election.
We are straightforward about our values: limited government, fiscal responsibility, family first and individual liberty. These candidates share those principles. But we did not choose them because they carry a party label. We chose them because they are good people: parents, professionals and community leaders who put our children first.
Jaime Dickson, a finance professional and youth sports coach, is committed to safety, mental health and creating supportive school environments where every student feels seen and valued. Joseph Catalli, a lifelong Mahopac resident, parent, and former school PTO treasurer, brings proven fiscal discipline and a passion for keeping kids engaged, confident and ready for the future. Alana Sweeney, an educator with decades of experience across curriculum, athletics and early childhood programs, is laser-focused on academic excellence.
There is no grand scheme here. There is no meddling from “the GOP” or outside interests. These candidates are not beholden to anyone except the parents, students and taxpayers of the Mahopac school district. They believe schools exist for education, not politics, and that every tax dollar must be raised and spent wisely, under real scrutiny.
We are proud to stand with them because they care deeply about our kids’ futures. On May 19, please join us at the polls and vote for Dickson, Catalli and Sweeney in rows 5, 6, and 7.
For our kids,
-Nick Fannin, Chairman, Town of Carmel Republican Committee
