NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - As our nation celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, the North Salem Republican Town Committee invites residents of all ages to test their knowledge of American history, government, and civics through a special summer challenge: Can you pass the U.S. citizenship test?
Throughout July, we will feature questions from a version of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Civics Test, the same test taken by individuals seeking to become United States citizens. The test covers important topics including American government, history, symbols, holidays, and civic responsibilities.
This is the first installment in our two-part series covering all 128 civics questions. This installment focuses on Principles of American Government and System of Government. Our second installment will focus on Rights and Responsibilities, American History, and Symbols and Holidays. By the end of the series, participants will have had the opportunity to test their knowledge across all topics covered by the citizenship test.
