YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y.—The Yorktown Central School District Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat following the resignation of longtime trustee Jackie Carbone.
Carbone stepped down after more than 19 years of service to focus on her health. In a letter to the school community, BOE President Lisa Rolle thanked Carbone for her dedication and wished her well as she focuses on her health.
The appointed candidate will serve until the next school board election on May 19, 2026.
Residents interested in applying are asked to submit a letter of interest, resume and any additional information they wish the board to consider to District Clerk Yvette Segal. Applications may be mailed to the district office at 2725 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598, or emailed to the district clerk at YSegal@yorktown.org.
Applications must be received by 9 a.m. on Oct. 31. The board plans to interview candidates at its Nov. 17 meeting and make an appointment soon after.
