Bicyclist killed in early morning collision

YORKTOWN, N.Y. —A bicyclist was killed Thursday morning, Aug. 14, after being struck by a car on Route 134, according to Yorktown police.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Emergency responders from the Yorktown Police Department, New Castle Police, Empress EMS, and the Millwood Fire Department responded to the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Yorktown resident, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital. No information has been released about their condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Yorktown Police Department and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
