It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Rollhaus Gatto, 96, of Somers, on Monday October 5, 2026 at Artis Senior Living in Yorktown.
Barbara was born on March 23, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Phillip E. Rollhaus and Elizabeth S. Bedford. She was a graduate of Scarsdale High School and she attended Wilson College. Barbara went on to work as an Administrative Assistant for the Town of Scarsdale.
In 1958, Barbara and her first husband, Jack G. Hardy, went to Venezuela and later Brazil, where they remained until 1986. Barbara had three children in Brazil, where she also became a businesswoman, opening the first consignment store in Rio, named Caco Velho. Upon returning to the States, Barbara worked for Nestle and Marriott Hotels until she retired.
Barbara is predeceased by: her granddaughter, Alejandra Pacchiana; her brother, Phillip E. Rollhaus; and her three husbands, Jack G. Hardy, Warren S. Quimby, and Ronald L. Gatto. Barbara is lovingly remembered and missed by: her three children and their spouses, Steve Hardy (Antonieta), Mark Hardy (Patricia), and Deborah Hardy (Celso); and her grandchildren, Patrick Hardy, Andrea Hardy, Ryan hardy, and Taylor Hardy. She will be forever remembered by her numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday October 24th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. Interment will be held at a later date.
