BEDFORD, N.Y. - Art Show: Bedford (ASB) is set to return for its 52nd year to the Fellowship Room at St. Matthews Church, located 382 Cantitoe Street in Bedford.

The juried show will showcase 45 local artists who work in a variety of media and represent diverse styles including painting, photography, ceramics, glass and jewelry.

The show opens on Friday, Jan. 24, with the Preview Party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This premier Westchester winter fete promises to be an explosion of art, courtesy of many talented exhibitors. Live music will be provided by Mark Weigel and Friends, tasty bites will be provided by Greenwich-based Happiness Is, and the men of St. Matthews will be running the bar.

(Tickets for the Preview Party are $150 in advance at www.artshowbedford.org, and $175 at the door.)

Admission to the public for the exhibition and sale are free, and open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 26. The show reopens the following weekend, Friday to Sunday (Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 and 2). Visitors are invited to enjoy nibbles in front of the fire, chat with the artists and browse the beautiful art on display. There will also be an array of fabulous items offered in a silent auction, which will run through the duration of the show.

ASB commissioned talented local artist Sarah Crossman to create the artwork used for the show’s invitation and promotional materials. Her peaceful image of two doves will be available for sale at the show along with many of her other works.

Since 1973, the all-volunteer committee of Art Show: Bedford has promoted local artists and donated 100% of the proceeds to local charities. This makes it unique from many other art shows, it is a true community event. This year’s charities are A-Home, Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester, Community Center of Northern Westchester, Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship, Hope’s Door, Hour Children, Midnight Run, Mount Kisco Interfaith Pantry, Neighbors Link, New Dawn and Rehabilitation through the Arts.

In 2024, ASB disbursed $56,000 for these and other charities in our local community. As Tara Deeks, Chair of ASB, explains “The majority of the charities that ASB supports provide food, shelter and protection from abuse for those of our neighbours who are most in need.”

The ASB consists of Co-Chairs Jenny Convery and Tara Deeks and committee members April Foley, Diana Knoblauch, Meg LeComte, Terry Long, Robyn McCree, Laurie Sturz, Suzannah Leighton, Nancy Rights, and Caroline Walker. Artistic Consultant Christopher Brescia of CB Arts, is collaborating in his sixth year with ASB to give guidance and support. ASB is hugely grateful for his expertise and help.
