SOMERS, N.Y. - Somers Youth Football finished their season earlier this month by playing at West Point!
The 2024 season was extremely successful, and everyone involved should be very proud.
The 8U team, led by Anthony Botticelli, had a very strong showing at the year-end red zone tournament.
9U, led by Andre Geraghty, lost a very tough semifinal playoff game. This team has grown immensely since the beginning of the season, and that growth is expected to continue for years to come.
The 10U team was led by Mike O’Donovan, and finished the season as the Taconic Youth Football Orange Bowl champion.
11U team was led by Mike Massett and had an undefeated regular season, winning their second consecutive Taconic Youth Football Championship at West Point.
The 12U team, led by Mike Jimenez, had an undefeated regular season. The team ultimately lost in the finals of the Taconic Youth Football Championship at West Point, but showed incredible resiliency in the championship game after losing their starting quarterback in the first half and fighting until the very end. Everyone is very proud of this group and look forward to them building upon their success next season.
The 13U team was led by Sean Kennedy and had an undefeated regular season before winning their second consecutive Taconic Youth football Championship at West Point. This team is now off play to high school football and everyone is looking forward to watching the continued success of this special group.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers from Team Moms, chain crews, photographers and coaches. This program is lead by volunteers and truly is a town effort!
