Somers Lions Club's 'Adopt A Family' Program Returns

Posted

SOMERS, N.Y. - As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of giving is alive and well in the Somers community.

In collaboration with the Somers Retired Teachers and generous residents, the Somers Lions Club is again launching the Somers “Adopt A Family” initiative. This heartfelt program aims to support needy families, ensuring they experience the joy of the season.

For many years, this initiative has brightened the holidays for countless children and families, bringing smiles to their faces through the kindness of community members. This year, the program is reaching out to residents to don their Elf hats and join in the effort to make a difference.

Volunteers are working closely with families to create their Wish Lists, which will help potential “adopters” understand the specific needs and desires of those they wish to support. The hope is that the community will come together to adopt families, providing gifts and assistance that will make their holidays brighter.

We’ve seen the incredible impact this program has on families over the years, and it’s a wonderful way for our community to come together and help our neighbors in need during this special time of year.

To get involved, community members can visit the program’s dedicated website at www.roonga.com/nysomersadoptafamily2024.

The site will provide further details on how to adopt a family and will be updated daily with new families in need, with the final updates available until Dec. 10.

The Somers “Adopt A Family” program is a reminder of the power of generosity and community spirit during the holiday season. Together, we can create lasting memories and bring joy to those who need it most. Join us in making this holiday season unforgettable for families in our community!
