SOMERS, N.Y. - A determined group of local Girl Scouts are partnering cookies and community.
Somers Girl Scout Troop 1457, made up of four 11th-grade Ambassadors and two troop leaders, has been hard at work fundraising for a planned trip to Costa Rica this summer. After several years of selling cookies at booths and reaching out to friends and family, the troop says it is now close to achieving its goal.
The scouts, along with leaders Michelle Quinn and Joan Kaminski, are inviting the community to help push them across the finish line by purchasing Girl Scout cookies.
Boxes are available for $7 each or $84 per case, with options for local delivery in Somers and Katonah or direct shipping. Supporters can also choose to donate cookies to members of the military.
In addition to traditional cookie sales, the troop has teamed up with a local favorite, Bobo’s Café, to offer two special menu items for a limited time. A Coconut Caramel Smoothie and a PB&J cronut will be available at all Bobo’s locations through May 10, with a portion of proceeds going toward the troop’s Costa Rica trip and planned excursions.
The scouts will also be selling cookies in person outside Bobo’s locations on Saturday, April 18. Scheduled times include Bobo’s Chappaqua from 8 to 10:30 a.m., Bobo’s Somers from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Bobo’s Baldwin Place from 1:45 to 4 p.m.
Community members interested in supporting the troop can place orders HERE or stop by one of the upcoming sales.
With their goal within reach, Troop 1457 is hoping the community will rally behind them one more time to help make their international journey a reality.
