SOMERS, N.Y. - On the evening of Sunday, Nov. 9, members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a residence on Route 139 following reports that part of a rock wall had collapsed onto a vehicle.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a stone pillar resting on the car. Crews used a winch to safely lift the pillar and clear the scene, and no injuries were reported.
SVFD units were on scene for about 30 minutes before returning to service.
