Setting the record straight on the Reis Park vigil

Dear Editor,

Joseph Lupo’s letter about the vigil at Reis Park was inaccurate, ill conceived and unfortunately consistent with MAGA extremism ("Vigil for Good and Pretti was disgraceful," April 9, Page 27).

The vigil for two Americans killed by ICE officers was organized by former Councilman and veteran Pat Desena. It began with thoughts of love and peace by some local clergy. The fact that some elected officials chose to participate was because of their love of country.

Republicans do not have a lock on patriotism. We are in this together...hopefully.
