SOMERS, N.Y. - Route 100 in Somers has been officially re-opened, the state Department of Transportation told the town Friday.

A section of the highway between Route 35 and Moseman Avenue had been closed to through traffic since last October to allow the replacement of a culvert.

Access to Muscoot Farm, a major county park, had been maintained for motorists driving south on Route 100. Otherwise, folks had to follow detours to get to their destinations.

In an email to the town, the DOT said it appreciated “the public’s patience throughout the construction.”

While the road is “fully open,” some minor work on the project will take place in the spring, it said.

That will, the DOT said, “be coordinated to avoid additional disruptions,” promising that “additional updates will be provided at that time.”
