YORKTOWN, N.Y.—Republican Assemblyman Matt Slater (AD-94) and Democrat Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg (AD-95) have been reelected to their respective districts in the New York State Assembly.

Both candidates represent parts of Yorktown.

Slater's District 94 includes the eastern section of Yorktown along with the town of Somers and the Putnam County towns of Carmel, Kent, Putnam Valley, Southeast, and Patterson. With all districts reporting by early Wednesday morning, Slater had nearly 60 percent of the vote, with a 45,208-26,728 lead over Democrat Zack Couzens, according to the New York State Board of Elections.

“I am truly humbled and honored to be given a second term representing the 94th Assembly District,” Slater said. "This is a validation of our strong record of delivering and fighting for the Hudson Valley. It is clear Hudson Valley voters want a state government that tackles the affordability crisis, creates a new age of opportunity, and finally prioritizes public safety. I look forward to returning to Albany to fight for these crucial priorities."

Levenberg, who is based in Ossining, had a similarly big lead over Republican challenger and Yorktown resident Mike Capalbo. With 107 of 112 districts reporting, the BOE reported that Levenberg had just under 60 percent of the vote to Capalbo's 34 percent (36,695-21,016). In addition to the western part of Yorktown, Levenberg represents Cortlandt, Peekskill, Ossining, and Putnam County's Philipstown.

“I am both honored and thrilled to have the support of the voters after my first term in the State Assembly,” Levenberg said. “I am also so grateful we had the sense to pass Prop 1 to protect our most vulnerable from discrimination and enshrine reproductive rights into the state constitution. I can now continue the good work we have been focusing on to make life in the lower Hudson Valley more sustainable for all. This is a team effort and I look forward to working together with my friends across the aisle for progress here in the 95th AD. ”
