Prop 1 Could Be Called The ‘Parent Replacement Act’

Posted

Dear Editor,

Many of my neighbors are unaware of the upcoming ballot amendment vote in New York this November, and that’s a serious concern. Prop 1 could be the most sweeping constitutional change New York has ever seen, and it must be stopped. Although some progressive leaders are framing it as an abortion issue, it goes far beyond that. This amendment represents an attempt to reshape our state in ways that most New Yorkers would never support.

One of the most troubling aspects of Prop 1 is its potential impact on girls’ sports. It could open the door for biological males to compete against women and girls, reducing their opportunities for playing time and, possibly, scholarships. These young women work hard, and forcing them to compete against athletes with inherent physical advantages is simply unfair.

Prop 1, which some are calling the “Parent Replacement Act,” also risks undermining parents’ rights. It could allow schools to keep parents in the dark if their child is undergoing gender transition, at a time when several European countries are restricting puberty blockers and transgender surgeries for minors due to the harm caused.

Before casting your vote, it’s crucial to fully understand what Prop 1 could mean for New York. The more you look into it, the clearer it becomes: Prop 1 is a dangerous amendment disguised as something else.
